What is Perspectives?
Goldman Sachs Asset Management does a quarterly compilation of insights collected from 6,000+ investments and client solutions professionals that are working across 60+ offices around the world.
This Edition
The macroeconomic backdrop is changing. It may be time for investment playbooks to change, too. In our latest issue of Perspectives, we examine how investors might navigate risk—and seize opportunities—as we move into a new era.
What is the difference between this edition with the previous ones?
As we continue to publish more editions throughout the years, we always look for ways to improve the experience of the readers. This year we worked with the UX team and engineering team to create an improved web experience for our readers.
What to expect?
Perspectives Webpage
There will be a landing page that will have an overview of all the articles. There will be an article webpage built out for each individual article.
Chart Style Guide
Perspectives normally include charts and graphics throughout the piece. The updated style guide was created to make the charts more intuitive to understand
Private and Public
This year’s edition includes both Private and Public Asset Management which means more insights and more teams collaborating on this piece
My design team and I worked closely with the UX team to help create a landing page that reflects the pdf version of the Perspectives issue.
Challenges
There are a total of 17 articles within this summer edition of Perspectives, and the possibility of generating all 17 individual article pages for mobile as well as desktop at the same time as the pdf launch date was not possible for us. The final copy of the edition was still under multiple iterations with our compliance team as well as our editing team. We were not able to generate the assets for the engineering until the copy was final.
Solution
We decided to add these cards that show a preview of the article whether it was an image with a blurb or a stat with a blurb.
Every two weeks there will be an article page available to the public. This allows the design team and engineering team enough time in between article pages. The Read more in bold will be appearing in the card once the page is live.
Article Pages
For individual article pages, I helped generate assets such as hero images, graphics, charts, and headshots for both desktop and mobile
Additionally, I helped create the latest version of the chart style guide used for this edition.
Changes made to charts
Axis labels are now included in the charts
Label symbols such as “$” and “%” are now included
rearrangement of charts for mobile

Key Takeaways
Reflection
There will be times when there are many edits flying around, but it's crucial to continue to have strong communication skills with others.
Bounce ideas off of other teams if you have the opportunity
This was a great project since I got to see the differences between last year’s edition with this one.
In order to get this piece complete, we went through a million iterations. I have always enjoyed the process of iterations, but it was nice to work with a team twice as big compared to last year. This made iterations great since we got points from various perspectives.
